The Armenian Friends of American Mission Statement The treasure that is our Armenian heritage is something that we have al been blessed with. Each time we share a story with our Armenian and non-Armenian friends, we share a piece of that heritage. With all the different noteworthy Armenian organizations in the Merrimack Valley, the support for our various causes is abundant. The idea behind creating a small non-profit organization was the result of conversations amongst these groups. Each of our Church fraternal organizations and Genocide Commemorative committees strives to educate and preserve our very special spirit, our Hokis. We are proud of or heritage, and in the spirit of fellowship, we wish to preserve it. The Armenian Friends of America, along with our brothers and sisters, wish to continue that preservation and celebration. We strive to accomplish our goal of providing an opportunity to recognize, appreciate and participate in our culture every day. To that end, we aspire. We are determined to become sponsors of a variety of activities that we hope will enrich our lives. One way we will do this is through our music We will endeavor to support other charities. We will create a network of individuals who understand we are Americans, but treasure and honor our Armenian heritage. We will strive to preserve that identity. Armenians in the United States are becoming more and more diffuse. While we yearn for the past, the future looms all to large. We are here to focus on our people, those of the Diaspora, to their descendants, and to those who have newly arrived. Above all else, we must strengthen and preserve our culture and heritage for our children and the generations to come. |
